Terms of Service
Last updated May 24, 2026. These terms explain the ground rules for using Outpost.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Outpost, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app, website, or related services.
2. What Outpost Provides
Outpost helps people organize outdoor trip planning information, including permits, campsites, trails, saved places, dates, reminders, and notes. Outpost is a planning tool and does not guarantee permit availability, campground availability, weather conditions, trail access, park access, or the accuracy of third-party information.
3. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for checking official sources before traveling, following all park, land-management, permit, safety, fire, wildlife, and campground rules, and using your own judgment outdoors.
You agree not to misuse Outpost, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or copy the service at scale, or use Outpost for unlawful activity.
4. Accounts and App Store Purchases
Some features may require an account or may be distributed through the Apple App Store. App Store downloads, subscriptions, refunds, and billing may also be governed by Apple's terms and policies.
5. Connected Recreation.gov Accounts
Some Outpost features may allow you to securely connect or sign in to your Recreation.gov account so Outpost can help monitor availability or perform actions you request. If you connect a Recreation.gov account, you confirm that you own or are authorized to use that account and authorize Outpost to use the credentials, tokens, or account access you provide only to operate the requested features.
Recreation.gov is a third-party service and is not owned or controlled by Outpost. You remain responsible for your Recreation.gov account, all reservation activity, fees, cancellations, account restrictions, and compliance with Recreation.gov's terms and rules. Outpost does not guarantee successful reservations, account access, site availability, or any particular booking outcome, and Outpost does not assume responsibility for third-party account issues or reservation decisions.
6. Third-Party Information
Outpost may reference or link to information from parks, campgrounds, reservation providers, maps, or other third parties. Those services are not controlled by Outpost, and their content, availability, and rules may change without notice.
7. Intellectual Property
Outpost, including its name, design, interface, copy, graphics, and software, is owned by Outpost or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Outpost except as allowed by law or with written permission.
8. Disclaimers
Outpost is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outpost disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outpost will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, travel costs, permit opportunities, or outdoor access.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date on this page or provide another reasonable notice.
